New Station
Bromsgrove has long campaigned for better rail facilities. Local commuters have suffered poor services, poor station facilities, poor parking and overcrowded trains. Local representations led to Network Rail proposing plans for a whole new station and parking facilities to be built on land available around the current station site. This would transform the life of Bromsgrove's commuters and enable the rail network to provide better and more frequent services.
Julie is seen celebrating the new plans with Cllr Caroline Spencer and Malcolm Richardson of Network Rail.
Support Our Soldiers
Julie wants us all to Support Our Soldiers at home and overseas. They should be proud to wear their uniforms and we all should be proud of what they do for us. We should be thankful for their professionalism and selflessness in undertaking dangerous and difficult missions around the world. Let them know that those of us safe at home are thinking of them.
We Were Promised A Referendum
"Britain needs a new kind of politics, one that engages everyone not the few."
- Gordon Brown, 3rd Sep 2007
"I want to involve, engage and listen to the people in a new politics"
- Gordon Brown, 7th Oct 2007
Why Can't the British People Have Their Say?
If You Don't Trust the People Gordon ... Why Should We Trust You?
All other EU leaders admit the EU Reform Treaty is over 90% identical to the discredited Constitution, that Labour pledged in its election manifesto to put to the British electorate. So Gordon, keep your promises, engage everyone - let us vote ...
Julie believes there should be a referendum on what is effectively a European Constitution and the EU should be more democratically accountable.

Wildmoor Quarry

Julie is supporting protests against development at Wildmoor Quarry. Residents are angry at the scale of the development that introduces extensive quarrying and waste recycling in a water protection zone in the Green Belt around Fairfield.
Julie is shown at the Residents-Say-No Campaign against Wildmoor Quarry development with Syd Danks, and Cllrs Sheila Blagg, Janet Boswell and Brian Fuller and supporters.
Fairer Pensions
Julie joined members of UEF demonstrating outside the Houses of Parliament during the debates on the Pensions Bill.
Julie has long campaigned for fairer treatment of pensioners who have lost their company pensions through no fault of their own and recently the Government has offered a better settlement.
Julie is now concerned that proposed mandatory personal pension accounts may not be suitable for a large number of pensioners.
Fairer Education Funding

On a per child basis Worcestershire suffers from some of the lowest funding in the educational system. The F40 organisation is a joint campaign by the poorest funded educational authorities in England to rectify this appalling situation.
Julie works with her fellow Worcestershire Conservative MPs and Prospective Parliamentary Candidates to highlight the lack of support for Worcestershire children.

Alexandra Hospital - NHS

Support the local campaign for better NHS services and help prevent the Alexandra Hospital from being downgraded.
Worcester Hospital works on a PFI contract that forces all Worcestershire budget cutting health measures onto the local Alexandra Hospital. Bromsgrove residents think this is not fair and have campaigned strongly against any removal of services from our local hospital.
Julie maintains an active interest in all decisions affecting the Alex.
